1.20.5, the first release of Armored Paws, is a minor update of Java Edition released on April 23, 2024, which adds the armadillo, wolf armor, and new variants of the wolf.

- Passive mob spawning in savanna.
- Randomly drops its scute.
- Can be bred using a spider eye.
- New variants are added, including rusty, spotted, black, striped, snowy, ashen, woods, and chestnut.
- The wolf with classic look is now referred as pale wolf.[1]

- "Isn't It Scute?"
- Get Armadillo Scutes from an Armadillo using a Brush
- "Shear Brilliance"
- Remove Wolf Armor from a Wolf using Shears
- "Good as New"
- Repair a damaged Wolf Armor using Armadillo Scutes
- "The Whole Pack"
- Tame one of each Wolf variant
- "Isn't It Scute?"
