Tricky Trials is a major update that features new copper and tuff blocks, maces, trial chambers, ominous events, and more. It is released on June 13, 2024. It is the last major update as Mojang switched to Game drops on September 2024.

    • Can only be obtained by using this command:

      • Bedrock Edition: /setblock x y z vault ["ominous"=true]
    • Generates in trial chambers.
    • Requires an ominous trial key to open it.
  • Trial Spawner
    • A new mob spawner block that generates in trial chambers.
    • Spawns a limited number of mobs.
    • Ejects a reward when a player successfully defeats all mobs.
    • Has a 30-minute cooldown before resetting to a different one.
  • Ominous Trial Spawner
    • Activates when a Bad Omen-inflicted player gets too close to the normal trial spawner.
    • Shoots projectiles and arrows in addition to mobs spawning.
  • Heavy Core
    • Can be obtained by unlocking an ominous vault at 7.5% chance.
    • Can be used to craft maces.

  • Trial Omen
    • A new status effect in which all trial spawners will become ominous when an inflicted player sees it.
  • Raid Omen
    • A new status effect in which it triggers a raid in a village if an inflicted player fails to remove it for 30 seconds.
  • Wind Charged
    • A new status effect that releases a burst of wind when an inflicted player or mob dies.
  • Infested
    • A new status effect that has a 10% chance of spawning a silverfish when an inflicted player or mob gets hit.
  • Oozing
    • A new status effect that spawns two slimes when an inflicted player or mob dies.
  • Weaving
    • A new status effect that leaves 2-3 cobwebs when an inflicted player or mob dies.

Enchantments[]

  • Breach
    • A new mace-exclusive enchantment that lessens the armor's effectiveness.
    • Has 4 levels.
  • Density
    • A new mace-exclusive enchantment that increases damage dealt per block fallen.
    • Has 5 levels.
  • Wind Burst
    • A new mace-exclusive enchantment that creates a wind charge effect when executing a smash attack.
    • Has 3 levels.

  • Wax On
    • Now applies to copper grates, chiseled copper, copper doors and copper trapdoors.
  • Wax Off
    • Now applies to copper grates, chiseled copper, copper doors and copper trapdoors.
  • Minecraft: Trial(s) Edition
    • Requires entering a Trial Chamber.
  • Lighten Up
    • Requires deoxidizing the copper bulb.
    • Requires the Wax Off achievement.
  • Who Needs Rockets?
    • Requires launching yourself 8 blocks up with a single wind charge.
  • Blowback
    • Requires killing a breeze via deflecting its wind charge.
  • Crafters Crafting Crafters
    • Requires crafting a crafter in a crafter.
  • Under Lock and Key
    • Requires unlocking a Vault with a Trial Key.
  • Revaulting
    • Requires unlocking an Ominous Vault with an Ominous Trial Key.
  • Over-Overkill
    • Requires smashing an entity one shot with a mace.

  • Trial Chambers
    • A new giant underground structure that provide players a mid-game combat challenges.
    • Made up of tuff and copper blocks.
    • It is where breezes spawn via trial spawners.
    • Has vaults and ominous vaults.
    • Has several chambers connected altogether through corridors.

Gameplay[]

  • Ominous Event
    • A new in-game event that can be triggered with Bad Omen.
      • When in trial chambers, all trial spawners will become ominous.
      • When on a village, it triggers a raid if raid omen doesn't remove in time.
