A golden dandelion is an upcoming decoration block that will be added in First Drop 2026.‌[upcoming] It has an appearance of a golden version of a normal dandelion, and can be used to feed most baby mobs, which pauses or resumes their aging, i.e. prevents them from turning into adults.

Like any flowers, golden dandelions can be easily broken with any tool.

A golden dandelion also drop as an item if:

  • The attachment block is removed or destroyed.
  • Water or lava flows into it.
  • A piston tries to push it or moves a block into its space.

Wandering traders may sell 1 golden dandelion for 2 emeralds as part of their normal trades.

Usage[]

Like any flowers, golden dandelions can be used as a decoration and can be planted on flower pots.

Golden dandelions can be placed on the following blocks:

Unlike other flowers, golden dandelions cannot be composted in the composter, does not attract bees, and aren't pollinated by bees.

Baby mobs[]

Feeding baby mobs a golden dandelion will lock their aging. Feeding it again will resume their aging.

Golden dandelions, however, do not apply to baby monsters (including undead ones) and baby villagers.

Crafting[]

Like most flowers, golden dandelions can be crafted to yellow dye. They can also be used to craft Saturation suspicious stews like any small flower does.

Piglins[]

Like all golden variant items, piglins are attracted to golden dandelions and run toward any golden dandelions on the ground, inspecting it for 6 to 8 seconds before putting it in their inventory.

Bee nests[]

Oak, birch, and cherry trees grown from saplings planted within 2 blocks of a golden dandelion have a 5% chance of growing a bee nest containing 2-3 bees.
