This page contains all incidents related to Minecraft. This includes disasters, deaths of notable people in the Minecraft community, controversies, scandals, etc.
- April 24, 2019: YouTuber and Twitch streamer Ph1LzA died on his 5 years hardcore Minecraft world after being ambushed by a baby zombie with full enchanted golden armor, a spider, and a creeper in a cave. That world at that time had a world record for being the longest Minecraft hardcore world ever.[1] The death gained at lot of attention and made him raise in popularity.
- Mid-2020: 3 Russian teenagers were arrested and charged with "making explosives and training to participate in terrorist activities" after investigators found out that they were plotting to blow up a Federal Security Service building in Minecraft. They had earlier put leaflets with political slogans on a FSS buliding in real life. Later on February 10, 2022, a court in Kansk, Siberia sentenced one of them (16-year-old Nikita Uvarov) to 5 years in prison, while the 2 others received suspended sentences.[2][3]
- June 2022: Well-known Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade died from metastatic sarcoma. After his dad posting the death announcement video titled "so long nerds" on his YouTube channel on June 30, 2022, it quickly got tens of millions of views, with many of his fans, YouTubers, and Minecraft players expressed their condolences and honoured him.[4][5] Tributes from many parties had been made, which include:

- July 27 - August 2, 2024: The donkey incident (TBA)
- August 24, 2024: Steamers Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed were doing a marathon of continuously playing hardcore Minecraft until they defeated the ender dragon. Almost 98 hours into the marathon, during the process of killing the dragon, Kai Cenat and Speed died from an enderman and falling off an end spike respectively. This made Speed very frustrated, and he started tossing his gaming chair, making a mess on his room, crying, and slapping himself in the face.[6]
- April - May 2025: After the release of the film A Minecraft Movie, an Internet trend appeared where many Generation Zs and Generation Alphas would go watch the film in theathers and make reactions when Steve (portrayed by Jack Black) said infamous lines in the film (such as "FLINT AND STEEL", "I... am Steve", and most notably, "CHICKEN JOCKEY"). The reactions mostly were just saying back those lines loudly, cheering, dancing, and throwing popcorns and drinks.[7][8] But some theathers had reported instances of smoke bombs and fire extinguishers being used and even a real life chicken being brought up as parts of the reactions.[9][10] Many people considered the reactions to be disruptive and disrespectful, with police even showed up to kicked out some of the viewers, and some theaters put up signs, warning filmgoers not to be disruptive.[11][12]
