This content has appeared in Java Edition 1.17 and Bedrock Edition 1.17.0 development versions, but the full update containing it has not been released yet.

The features on this page are exclusive to Experimental Gameplay in Bedrock Edition. 

These features may be properly added in a future update, but currently require enabling one or more settings in the "Caves and Cliffs" section of the Game Settings menu.

The drip stone block is a decoration block.

Obtaining[]

Breaking[]

Drip stone blocks require a pickaxe to be mined, in which case it drops itself. When mined without a pickaxe, it drops nothing. It can be blown up by TNT, in which case it also drops itself.

Natural generation[]

Drip stone blocks can be found in drip stone caves. Clusters of drip stone blocks can also rarely generate in other cave types ^{(details needed)}.

In Java Edition, journeyman-level stone mason villagers have a ²⁄₇ chance to sell 4 drip stone blocks for one emerald as part of their trades.

In Bedrock Edition, journeyman-level stone mason villagers have a ¹⁄₄ chance to sell 4 drip stone blocks for one emerald as part of their trades.‌

Usage[]

Pointed Drip Stone Growth[]

If a stalactite is hanging from a drip stone block with a water source above, it will slowly grow both the stalactite from above and a stalagmite from below.
