News Description

A Minecraft Movie Live Event was a limited-time event server hosted by Mojang Studios. The event was open starting on March 25 at 2:30 PM PT / 10:30 PM CET and ran until April 14 at 2 PM PT / August 5 at 11 PM CET;[1] it was originally going to end on April 7, but was extended by a week starting on the day it was intended to end.

The event served as the means to obtain several Character Creator items that were made for the event, including the Yearn Cape. These items could be obtained by playing the three mini-games hosted as part of the event; the objectives to fulfill were outlined by 6 quests, which were revealed individually throughout the event's duration. Playing the games also allowed players to obtain "Emeralds", which could be spent to obtain cosmetics which were exclusive to the event.

Locations[]

The event took place across four locations, with three of these being needed to complete the quests presented at the event. The locations are accessible by talking to characters and accepting their dialog prompts, or by using the Map.

Midport Village[]

Midport Village is the default location where every player starts after joining the server. It is where all interactive characters are found, and in turn where players are able to go to the other locations.

Diamond Bootique[]

Midport Village contains the Diamond Bootique, in which the player can spend Emeralds to buy cosmetics.

Secret Stash[]

Midport Village contains the Secret Stash, in which the player can spend Emeralds to upgrade and enchant their equipment items.

Wilderness[]

The Wilderness is accessed by talking to Dawn and Natalie. In it, players navigate a path alongside a cart, while defeating mobs that appear and try to attack the cart. When players ensure the cart is not destroyed and remain near it when it reaches the hub, they are credited for its successful travel.

Mines[]

The Mines are accessed by talking to Henry. In it, players travel down caves to collect resources from the ore blocks using the Pickaxe. Hostile mobs randomly spawn throughout the caves. The player's resources are only kept if they return to the elevator; upon death or leaving the server, all resources are lost. The elevator allows players to go to two sections: Level 1 and Level 2. Level 1 has Coal Ore, Iron Ore, and Redstone Ore. Level 2 has these ores in addition to Lapis Lazuli Ore, Gold Ore, and Diamond Ore.

Outer Walls[]

The Outer Walls are accessed by talking to Garrett. In it, players go to the top of Midport Village's walls to defend it from waves of Piglins that emerge from Nether Portals. Players must shoot at all the enemies before they reach the walls' doors and breach them. After a wave ends and the doors remain safe, all participating players are credited for its completion. No mobs will spawn for some time, and then another will begin.
