Polished Stone

Why is "might be used as a new polished stone" on every stone variant? I don't think there is any evidence to back it up, particularly with stone variants like Geode Quartz and Dripstone. Would Mojang really change a texture so soon after the first time, and why would they use any of these new blocks for that purpose? PegasusDust (talk) 20:59, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

Sooo, I've never used the talk pages before and I don't know if I'm doing this right, but I haven't seen ANY evidence to back up polished Dripstone/"Deep Dark" stone/Ruff/Calcite. I wouldn't even particularly WANT polished versions, I think they'd look weird.

Calcite is already in the snapshots so that is eliminated and also I will removed this unsourced info as well.---Humiebee Discuss anything with me Look at my edits 21:35, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

Tuff is also in the snapshots, so I removed it from there as well. There is no polished tuff in Minecraft.

Copper stairs

Are there copper stairs? On the stairs page, it only shows cut copper stairs. The artwork on the main page doesn't fit that, though, so I am curious about the possibility. PegasusDust (talk) 05:08, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

Nope, I think cut copper is only able to be 'cut' to stairs and slabs. – Unavailablehoax (talk) 05:12, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

Split planned additions section into additions and planned additions

  •  Oppose, but only because it's only released on Java Edition 1.17, not Bedrock Edition. Someone actually already split Java Edition 1.17 to additions and planned additions. – Unavailablehoax (talk) 23:42, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
For that to be done the content of this page would have to stop being transcluded and be substituted on each page. Is the duplication worth that accuracy? (Probably)  Nixinova T  C   00:23, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
  •  Oppose because technically none of those items was added to a final version. They do exist, but only on development versions. Splitting it wouldn't be confusing at start, but then Java and Bedrock pages would be different. Supeika (talk) 14:48, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
    • Edit: Per Nixinova's comment, I think that the splitting is ok.Supeika (talk) 21:15, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
  • The page has been substituted on the Java page, and this should also be done on the Bedrock page, so this page can be turned into a generic version page like Buzzy Bees.  Nixinova T  C   20:31, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

Azalea trees?

The Planned additions section mentions "azalea trees" in a few locations and lists blocks with the unofficial names "azalea sapling" and "hanging azalea roots". Where does this notion of an azalea "tree" come from? An azalea is a flowering shrub, not a tree. Bushes grow from cuttings, not saplings, and they can climb walls like a rose bush, but the runners are not roots, they're runners or tendrils or vines or something like that. Azalea roots and leaves would still make sense though. Is there anything in the snapshot or any Mojang video that suggests they're going to implement it as a tree? I'd be very surprised if they did that. — Auldrick (talk) 16:13, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

https://youtu.be/DBvZ2Iqmm3M&t=6m45s , at around 6:45 Brandon referred to this plant as a tree. Although the concept art doesn't actually display the word "tree", so it might be just a misnomer or a common usage. – ItsPlantseed|⟩ 16:30, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
In Minecraft Live, they actually showed a placeholder for the azalea tree, which used oak logs rather than a new wood type. I am uncertain if that meant that the flowers could grow on oaks, or if they are adding a new wood type with the azalea tree. My guess is the latter. PegasusDust (talk) 01:00, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

Warden counterstrategy and Sculk Sensors

Hi. Since I am new here, I don't know how to do the reference number things that have links, but for the warden counter strategy and sculk sensors, I found this http://twitter.com/kingbdogz/status/1320772725066076165, and this https://twitter.com/kingbdogz/status/1329432968205656072. Can someone post these for the Warden and Sculk Sensors? Thanks.

@Blu Gy: I should point out some things:
  • We shouldn't be citing tweets from random people. The same goes for forum posts or any other user-generated content. If it comes from an official source, like a Mojang rep, that would be OK, and the tweets you reference are from a Mojang developer. However....
  • The tweets you linked constitute speculation, and we don't include speculation in main space articles.
  • Main space articles aren't tutorials. Advice on defeating a mob can be put in a Tutorials sub-page but not in a main space article. Even in tutorials, speculation isn't appropriate; just stick to known facts.
In summary, that tweet wouldn't belong in this article, in my opinion. I'd remove it if I saw it. We don't need to include every tweet we find from Mojang. Amatulic (talk) 21:49, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
@Amatulic: OK, thanks. I am still new, and don't know much about editing.
