Locator Bar - minecraft.fandom.com
The locator bar in survival mode, showing blue and orange waypoints.
The Locator Bar is a feature for the player HUD added in Chase the Skies. It shows the position of other players and entities through the use of "waypoints". It only works in Multiplayer mode.
Usage[]
The Locator Bar appears in place of the XP bar, except when gaining or losing XP, or while the anvil or enchanting table GUI is on-screen. By default, it shows the position of other players in multiplayer as colored indicators, referred to as waypoints.
Waypoints appear on the locator bar when the target is horizontally within 120 degrees of the camera's view.
Players can prevent from being seen in the locator bar, as waypoints disappear if:
- The player is sneaking
- The player has the invisibility effect
- The player is wearing a mob head or a carved pumpkin
Waypoint icons can be changed based on the player's distance to its location.
- Square - 0-179 blocks
- Circle - 179-230 blocks
- Small square - 230-281 blocks
- Small circle - >281 blocks
Entities' waypoints are tracked by the game when their transmission range is set to greater than zero.
