This is my list of tips on making screenshots.
Tips may not be accurate, because I only took a few photos of Minecraft on PC, which are not about biomes or something like that.
- General
- Use F1 to hide GUI, which would obstruct the view.
- Use no texture packs in the screenshots.
- Mipmap should be set to a low setting. Mipmap set to a high setting blurs everything, lowering the details and quality.
- Details on the image and quality of it vary with the position and angle it is taken from.
- Special cases:
- For biomes, it is better to pick a position that is low enough to see more details and high enough to see more of the object. An angle of 10° to 70° might fit well.
- So, before posting a new photo, it is advised to take multiple of them, and post the best one.
- Biome images
- It may not be advised to get rid of other, "unneeded" biomes. It may be better to see a biome as part of something bigger.
- The most space of the image image (say, 80-90%) should document the photographed biome.
