DPL Performance Improvements: Testing Next Week[]

Hello,

In recent weeks, our engineering staff has been reworking some code of the DynamicPageList (DPL) extension in order to correct a bug and, by extension, dramatically improve query performance, speeding up article page load times.

We are intending to push that change live on your wiki Monday, May 13th. This change should be invisible - the actual wikitext nor the visual output of DPL queries is expected to change. We are confident this should be a smooth rollout due to testing we did prior to this stage. However, as your community is one of the largest on Fandom using DPL, I wanted to proactively inform you of this change so you can be on the lookout for any unexpected problems.

If next week you notice any sort of unusual issues with DPL, please report them immediately through Special:Contact. You can refer to "PLAT-8725" in any bug reports to help us more efficiently triage the concern.

What's this page about? StuckInAHypickle (talk) 07:43, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
Its the skin edit for like steve and stuff, I wonder if there is already a page for block edit – Unsigned comment added by Scratchisthebestsite (talkcontribs). Sign comments with ~~~~

Hey there[]

So on November 28, 2024, you attempted to change the wiki background to have some different blocks, and then you try to "Restore blank version" but accidentally (or intentionally) change both the light and the dark background to have some cobwebs (which kinda made it fitting to the wiki for some people but not for me). I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not or if this was accidental or intentional, but I hope you can change the background back to be blanked. I'm sorry, no only does you not reverting the background but also change the wiki logo to sun. I really dislike this change, the Minecraft Wiki logo is already an iconic logo, so changing to logo just make it worse, and it feels like this isn't Minecraft Wiki. I hope you revert this change because "if it ain't broken, do not fix". Brain Coral Block (texture) JE2 BE1 Brain180, "click here to talk" 07:43, 7 December 2024 (UTC)

Vandalism[]

Hey there, please resolve all of the vandalism that happened recently, remember that's your the only active admin on this wiki since SLScool hasn't been active for 6 days now. Brain Coral Block (texture) JE2 BE1 Brain180, "click here to talk" 05:23, 1 January 2025 (UTC)

Hey, i was wondering if you could edit the formatting codes page and finish adding everything about the resin color code that was added in the minecraft pale garden update, add the hex code, the rgb code and link the bedrock edition only at the end of the row to the bedrock edition page, i understand if you can't do it right now, but try when you can. (It hasn't been added to the box since the pale garden update drop so i added it to the box)

I fixed the formatting and the Bedrock Edition link but I don't know the colors any more than you do. Maybe someone else will know them and add them. StuckInAHypickle (talk) 08:00, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
User:Spidey9 2025 added the information, so that's done now. StuckInAHypickle (talk) 20:26, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

CSS Optimizations[]

Heyo! I shared this message with SLScool just now and wanted to keep you in the loop. I’m leaving this message here on your talk page for easy sharing/reference c: We have an important performance recommendation for your community.

The Context: As we mentioned in the Technical Update on October 31st, our engineering team has identified that the use of multiple @import rules in custom CSS generates additional network requests that significantly slow down page loading for your readers.

What We Are Doing: To help solve this, we are now implementing an automatic backend optimization to improve how these styles are delivered. This change is designed to be invisible and speed up your wiki without changing its appearance.

Our system will handle everything automatically, but it is possible that the load order of the imports may be altered, as they will be grouped automatically. If any style does not appear correctly, it should be resolved by changing the order of the imports. If that doesn't work, please let us know via Zendesk, and we will help you resolve it immediately.

Thank you for helping us keep Fandom fast and accessible!!— OishiiOnIno ( talk ) 14:36, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
