Examples

  • activity log - record "daily" activity and progress (Minecraft days are approximately 10 minute out-of-game time) more information...
  • stop work every 50-60 minutes and write a brief summary of the experience and work done since your last report
  • create a tutorial - prepare a storyboard for the video (main ideas, sequence, "shots"), capture video, write a script, narrate video, publish with written summary
  • write the instructions for an activity, have another student follow the instructions as written, revise instructions as necessary
  • prepare a presentation for teachers who are not familiar with Minecraft to outline the process for developing a new learning activity
  • create a log, take screenshots, do a machinima – put together a gallery of your life and times in the world [1]

Each student will have to create his or her own world (Start from scratch). They would play Minecraft as they usually play it but they have to keep in mind what they are doing because in the morning of each new day, the students will have to write down and log everything they did that day. They will do this for 15 or 20 days or however long we want the assignment to drag out.

  • Each grade level will receive a list of vocabulary words that the students will have to imply into their logs
  • After the students are done with their logs they will have to make a procedure chart (See image below), that later after completion would be paired up with a group of 2 or 3, then comparing and contrasting the differences and similarities of their own chart. http://i40.tinypic.com/wk0mmq.jpg
