A silverfish is a small hostile arthropod that can be found within the Echoing Void DLC of Minecraft Dungeons.

Appearance[]

Silverfish are small silvery bug-like mobs, possessing fuzzy thorns on their back and having segmented bodies. They have black eyes and a black tail tip.

Behavior[]

Basic attack

Silverfish quickly scuttle toward a target to bite them, inflicting a small amount of damage, similarly to how they behave within the original game.

The scuttling torment is an ancient silverfish that can be encountered during ancient hunts with the minimum offering of:

The ancient resides within an arena based on The Stronghold and possesses, at minimum, the following enchantments:

• Huge
• Burning
• Cowardice
• Regeneration

Fifteen enchanted skeletons spawn as the ancient’s minions with the following enchantments:

• Growing

Upon defeating the scuttling torment, a gilded variant of the following items drops as a reward:

• Obsidian Claymore
  • The Starless Night
• Teleportation Robes
  • Unstable Robes
• Void Bow
  • Call of the Void

September 29, 2018					Silverfish are first seen within the Minecraft Dungeons Announcement trailer.
1.1.1.0					Added a walking animation for silverfish. However, no model, texture, or any other asset for silverfish currently exists at this point.
November 17, 2020					Silverfish are seen again within the Minecraft Dungeons Cross-Platfrom Play Trailer.
July 14, 2021					Silverfish are revealed along with several other mobs to be present within the The Stronghold of the Echoing Void DLC.
July 15, 2021					Silverfish are revealed specifically within a Twitter video to be able to rain down upon heroes.[1]

Trivia[]

• Before the Echoing Void DLC, silverfish were previously unused mobs. They had made appearances within a few trailers such as the Cross-Platform Play trailer. They also had an animation file in the code before being officially added.
