These features may be properly added in a future update, but currently require enabling one or more settings in the "Drop 3 of 2026" section of the Game Settings menu.
A straw bed is an upcoming consumable bed variant that will be added in Wilderness Bound[upcoming]. It allows players to sleep in it, but doesn't set their respawn point.

Natural generation[]
Straw beds naturally generate as part of abandoned camps.
Usage[]
Unlike beds, when a player sleeps in it, it does not set the player's respawn point. Straw beds are one-time use only, meaning they will break once used, whether a player sleeps successfully or leaves the bed.
Straw beds do not explode when attempting to use them in the Nether or at The End. They will instead break.
Straw beds can be composted, similar to hay bales.
