The two programs listed in Programs and Editors contained copyrighted code by Mojang AB which is illegal to redistribute (which these programs are). Those two programs, MCVersionPatcher and Minecraft Version Changer, are breaching the Minecraft EULA and should be permanently removed from the list... Minalear 23:51, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

The wiki is not distributing them, so there is nothing illegal going on here. Whether it's illegal to distribute those programs depends on where you live - "illegal" is relative to legal jurisdictions. I'm going to assume we're talking about US law here. The programs themselves are not against the minecraft TOS - the action of distributing them is, but linking to them is not. The wiki doesn't even link to the programs - it links to places which have links to the programs. It would be against the wiki rules if the wiki was being used to distribute the program(s) - because obviously then the Minecraft ToS would be violated on the wiki. There is no legitimate reason for them to be removed from Programs and editors. I suggest you sign your messages on talk pages with ~~~~. --Krenair 23:37, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Edit war[]

I have already made a message on Krenair's talk page asking him about the programs in question, although if you have any information about what exactly they do that will help.

And also, next time, don't get in an edit war. Revert their edit once or twice, but if they continue you take it to their talk page and come to an agreement. If you can't do that you go to the admin noticeboard and we'll sort it out. Don't expect every admin to be as lenient, I could throw a week ban at both of you and say the programs go and that's final, but I'd rather find out more about the programs to decide if they are violating Mojang's ToS. –ultradude25 (T|C) at 03:56, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
