The Mob Vote was an annual event and community poll that allowed people to vote for a new mob to be added to the game in a future update. Each mob received its own video, introducing its behavior, biome(s), features, and impact on gameplay.

On Social Media, Minecraft announced that they are "retiring the mob vote". In a Minecraft article on the Official Minecraft Website; 'The Future of Minecraft’s Development^[1], Section 3; "A new format for Minecraft Live", or Paragraph 7, Ryan Cooper wrote "We’re changing the format for Minecraft Live, and retiring the mob vote, to bring you something new.".
